Pinewood Derby Update and Info!

Hi Pack Families,

We just received the 2025 official Pinewood Derby rules from the district, and we've attached a copy for your reference. This email is dedicated to answering questions and sharing important details for new and returning families. There's a lot to cover, so please see the information below:

Q: Where are the rules for the race and my car? A: Check the attached document or click [this link].

Q: What is the timeline of events leading up to the race? A: Please refer to the handout for all key info and timelines, see newsletters

Q: I need to weigh my car. Is there a pack scale or workshop? A: Yes! We'll have a weigh-in on March 5th. If you need a weight check before then, reach out, and we'll help.

Q: What is the family race? A: The family race is a fun opportunity for everyone to participate! We have extra cars available—reach out if you're interested. Parents, siblings, or even a friend curious about scouting can join and race with Pack 722. It's a great way to bring a buddy along!

Q: What is the schedule for race day? A: Final times will be shared in the February pack meeting and Newsletter.

Q: Lunch on Pack 722 Derby Day? A: Yes!!! The church will be providing lunch for the Pack from 11 AM to 1 PM—hot dogs, chips, and baked goods are typically on the menu.

Q: If I win the Pack 722 race, what's next? A: Winners from each den will advance to the District Race on March 29th at Concord Pack 133. Top finishers may even qualify for the national races!

Spring Overnight: Adventure at Old Sturbridge Village

March 29-30th at 5:30PM

We are excited to invite you to our annual spring time overnight event: Adventure at Old Sturbridge Village. The night in the Museum is an exciting (indoor, see link) overnight adventure designed specifically for scouts. Armed with just a map and a tattered journal, young scout historians will journey back in time to the 1830s for a mysterious, candlelit quest. Along the way, they'll sharpen their detective skills by hunting for clues, conducting experiments, and uncovering secrets of the past. The adventure continues in our hands-on learning laboratory, where scouts will explore historic crafts and gain insight into 19th-century life.

This event is limited to 80 participants (youth and adults), with priority given to scouts. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis, so spots are limited. If the event reaches capacity, we will contact families from the list to discuss options.
