Flag Placing

Flag Placing at Lakeside Cemetery

A quick reminder that tomorrow at 3:00pm, Pack 722 will be placing flags at grave sites in Lakeside Cemetery on North Ave.

Be sure to wear your Class A uniform and bring a large, long screwdriver to create a hole for the flag pole.

The scouts have a great time helping out with this every year and it only takes an hour.

Information about the Ecotarium Trip (w. attachment)

Hi All,

As we are getting closer to April 28th, I want to share some additional information about the Ecotarium trip for those attending.  Attached is a full listing of FAQ provided by the museum, but I'm including some highlights below.  Please review and feel free to reach out to Michael Lew if you have any questions.

  • The EcoTarium is located at 222 Harrington Way in Worcester, which is about 60 minutes from Wakefield with no traffic.  I'm guessing it's 90+ min from Wakefield in traffic on a Friday afternoon.
  • Arrival time is 5:15-6:30.  However, you should aim to be there as close to 5:30 as possible as programming starts promptly at 6:30 and we need to eat dinner before then.
  • We will be serving pizza for everyone for dinner on the evening of the 28th.  Planning to have it delivered to the Ecotarium at 5:30 or so.
  • The Ecotarium is still strict with their COVID policies and while masks are not required, everyone will be required to test prior to entering the museum.  If you test positive you will not be allowed to attend the overnight, so I recommend testing in advance before you leave your house to prevent having to turn around after you've arrived in Worcester.
  • Bedtime varies, but is between 10:30 and 11:00.

Thanks

On behalf of Michael, Pack 722 Committee

Pack Sledding Day - it’s a go!

Hey all! I just had our oldest run over to Doyle and try a run this morning. It is packed pretty good, with a bit of powder on top… and most importantly it was fast!! Even though it's a bit thin, he thought it was fun. So, I say it's a go! Nothing too fancy… everyone just show up with a sled, or tube, or whatever you want to go down the hill on😀

Doyle Early Childhood Center
(781) 246-6420

We'll say 1-2pm, but, of course you can be there for as long as you're having fun. You can park along the sidewalk, or in the lot… typically parking is a non-issue.

Have a blast!!
Brad

Pack Sledding Day

Hey all! Just wanted to send a quick email about sledding tomorrow. It doesn't look like stellar conditions on the ground at Doyle. It's thin, and pretty icy. Which, on one hand is great for speed. But less great when you bail off the sled 😀I'll send an email to confirm tomorrow, but it doesn't look really likely.

Based on the weather for tomorrow,  the best chance I think will be 1-2pm is going to be the best window to get it in. It could allow for some accumulation to happen (1-3 inches).

I'll send out the final word in the morning.

Hi Everyone,

I have some summer camp updates to share, but the most important is to register your interest by Feb 28th: https://forms.gle/pWynAzxd3kLsZxFv6

We have until March 31st to register for the early bird discount and want to know how many kids are going to coordinate adult coverage.

What: 4 nights of Overnight Scout Camp (*optional 5th night for current 4th graders)
When: July 16th to 20th (Sunday around noon - Thursday around dinner)
Where: Camp Carpenter - Manchester, NH (less than an hour)
Who: All scouts not moving up to the troop in April. Kids that are graduating kindergarten this year (Lions) will be moving up to Tigers next year and can go with a parent for a discounted joint rate.
Cost: $530 per scout (before 3/15, $550 after). $230 per adult. Tiger pair is $680 for a tiger scout + adult.

Adult Leadership - Myself, Mike Festa, and James Maier went last year and will be running the trip this year. We are looking for additional parents that would like to join us for the week. Please let me know if you are interested. The total number of adults will be based on the number of scouts and should be around 1 per 4 scouts, not including tiger parents. If you would like to come, but cannot stay the entire week, we are allowed to rotate out adults and can coordinate as we get closer.

Fwd: Amazing Overnight Experience Opportunities

Just a reminder, we have one week left for sign ups.  Money is due at the Derby check in.
