The new scout year kicks off next week... Blue & Gold Luau celebration, Registered scouts picking up their Pinewood Derby cars, and sign-ups now open for both Battleship Cove and Summer Camp. It's going to be a busy and exciting start to the year for Pack 722!

Pack Meeting: Blue and Gold Celebration & Pinewood Kick Off
January 16th, 6:30pm to 7:30pm 

Excitement is in the air as we prepare for our Blue and Gold Luau Celebration! This special Cub Scout tradition honors the founding of the BSA on February 8, 1910. Feel free to break out your Hawaiian shirts, leis, and tropical flair—luau attire is encouraged but optional!


Meeting Details: 

  • Blue and Gold Birthday of Scouting Celebration with Pizza and Cupcakes. Please bring a water bottle. 

  • Special Guest: Kidz Fun will be joining us to host an activity for the Scouts 

  • Pinewood Derby kick off: Registered scouts* will receive their cars at NO COST, marking the official kick-off to the March Race. Families and parents are encouraged to participate by purchasing a car for $7 that night (Cash and Venmo accepted). 


*If you're unsure about your registration status (online and pack dues, $30), no problem! We'll have a registration list and a few laptops at the pack meeting to help sort it out.   • Pinewood Derby Info: Additionally, we'll be hosting some Pinewood Q&A for scouts and parents who are new to this event. Please see this link from last year, we will be updating details as we get more info from District Council

What to Bring:  

  • Luau attire or Class B uniforms (Scout T-shirt) are encouraged because the scouts will be active.

SIGN UP IS OPEN:
Adventure at Battleship Cove in Fall River

March 28th and 29th

 

We are excited to invite you to our annual spring time overnight event: Adventure at Battleship Cove in Fall River, MA


This is an unique opportunity for your scouts to spend a night aboard the USS Massachusetts, a World War II battleship. They will sleep in authentic sailors' racks, eat chow-style meals in the original Officers' Wardroom, and participate in a variety of activities, such as a scavenger hunt, story time, and much more.


To ensure we have an accurate headcount and can place the necessary deposit, please sign up using the following link. 

Deadline for sign up will be January 31st


Date: March 28th – 29th Weekend

Location: 5 Water St, Fall River, MA 02721

Cost: approximately $75 per person/scout. This inclusive fee encompasses dinner, breakfast, activities, sleeping quarters and full access to the museum plus 2 other ships.  Stay tuned for further updates!

Project Linus Blanket Making  
Saturday February 21st, 10:00am to 1:00pm

 

Project Linus is a nonprofit organization working with the UMC that provides handmade blankets to children in need, offering comfort, warmth, and a sense of security during difficult times.

Join us for a FUN, hands-on event that makes a real difference! Scouts will help those in need by creating traditional knotted fleece blankets, learning basic sewing techniques, and exploring a variety of blanket-making skills along the way. This is a great opportunity to give back, learn something new, and work together as a pack. For more info see Link1

Location:  Wakefield-Lynnfield United Methodist Church

Parent / Guardian required - Encouraged. The ideal ratio is 1 adult to 3 Scouts so parents are invited.

What to bring : Labeled scissors, lunch, and water. (The pack will supply 1 yard of material per scout)

Camp Carpenter Sleep Away Camp
July 12th to July 16th 

 

Get ready for summertime adventures – Camp Carpenter! Nestled on the outskirts of Manchester, New Hampshire, Camp Carpenter offers a 250-acre wooded escape, serving as the Daniel Webster Council's Cub Scout Summer Camp and the home of Granite Base Camp.


Save the Date: July 12th to July 16th 2026 (Stay tuned for additional information in upcoming newsletters)

Location: Manchester, New Hampshire

Activities: Archery, arts and crafts, BB gun shooting sports, field sports, nature exploration, scout skills,  Fort Friendship, Pirates Cove, and the Indian Village.
